Meet the newest member of our family, Miles!
Weâd been searching for the perfect four-legged companion for a while, trying local fostering networks with no luck. Then, by fate/a lucky Google search, I found a dashing Dalmation named Lazlo at the Santa Rosa Humane Society. Instantly smitten, I called, but no answer. Hours passed, then a full day. Calls, emails, even Instagram DMs⊠nothing--  we thought we had been catfished (or, dogfished). With little hope but a gut feeling, I jumped in the car for a two-hour drive, expecting to hear he was long gone.
But, Lazlo was still there! Heâd spent the holidays at the shelter, waiting for his people. The moment we met, I knewâhe was coming home with me. Fate? Definitelyâhe even shared my Dadâs name! Plus, I grew up with a Dalmatian, and they don't pop up at shelters that often, so it felt meant to be. On the long drive home he got restless in his crate so I put on some Miles Davis, and just like that, he calmed down. A dog with jazz taste? I was in love.

The vet thinks he's about a year oldâhis puppy energy and breath gave him away. Night one came with a couple of pee accidents (oops), but by day two? Perfectly house-trained, knew his commands, and slept like a champ. Total dreamboat!

First night at home
As for his name? Now Milesâbecause two Lazlos in one town was one too many. Plus, itâs perfect: his love for Miles Davis, the miles I drove to get him, and all the miles weâll keep hiking together.
We couldnât be luckier to have him in our lives. Miles is thrivingâloving the beach, learning his new name, socializing with neighborhood pups, horses, and llamas + nightly showering us with cuddles and ankle bites.
He's a full on puppy with boundless energy and endless shedding, we now all resemble polar bears, but honestly, heâs worth every fluffy tumbleweed. đŸ
Now your home is complete! Congratulations on your growing family. Sending many belly rubs and cheek nibbles to Miles!
