WonderFULL Summer!

Updated: Sep 13, 2022

Swoosh, what.a.summer! 2.5 months came and went soooo quickly, but not to worry, we filled it with so much goodness. It was most certainly quality time.

This summer we offered the boys a little extra independence and equipped them with their very own wallets/ids + personal cell phones-- Liam even got his own debit card for his bank account! The boys spent the first week exploring our neighborhood in preparation for our scavenger hunt with a big grand prize if they could locate all 9 riddles (which they did). We enjoyed suppin' with my cousin Janie and her oldest, Tucker, took some high dives at Oceania pool, and the boys enjoyed a little solo time at Sea Bowl arcade; they even built their own arcade at our house! We stopped in at SF's crystal fair where Isaac was given a stunning rock that he was eyein', stuffed our faces with yummy snacks as we watched "Princess Bride" in my car at Pacifica's outdoor movie night, and fully surprised Isaac with his beach birthday party with all of his friends. Liam enjoyed his internship at Neato observing robots' behaviors and Isaac could not get enough of working at Klein Parker & Epstein to design shoes in SF. Isaac may also have a future as a Director; he directed players at Bat's Improv from the audience! Liam faced his fears at Santa Cruz boardwalk, they both redecorated their rooms thanks to Zendesk's design closet, and we closed off the first portion of summer with a week of tennis camp at Terra Nova HS before heading down to SoCal for our infamous surf trip.

Me and the joys flew to Lisbon and then over to Hungary, where they stayed with their grandparents while I worked in Barcelona and David worked in Berlin (I also met David in Berlin). David and I flew to Hungary and spent 10 days between Lake Balaton at the family home and Budapest at the family home. We enjoyed delicious, long meals with family and friends, copious amounts of wine (not the boys), afternoon swims in the Lake, bat shows at night, explored castles in the countryside and bathes and architecture in Budapest. We closed our European adventure with 5 days in Portugal exploring Nazare, the world's largest wave where Liam drove a tuk tuk and David drove backwards up a narrow, winding cobblestone street, Porto's many bridges and historical sights, and Lisbon's fantastic food and culture.

The boys came home to surf camp in the mornings (where they both surfed the outside and stood up!!) then afternoon cuddles with Cocoa (and Aunt Sarah... maybe a fist bump from Uncle Mickey.) We enjoyed some quality time at Zendesk (where I work), Japanese Tea Garden, and The De Young-- Isaac finally got to see Egypt through their 180 piece limited time exhibit! David and Isaac completed their outdoor survival training day in the Santa Cruz mountains; a coming of age event that both Liam and Isaac have completed with David when they turn double digits. They boys both got some pretty bad ass haircuts with Hareg before they flew to SLC for their first week of school and then came home a week later to enjoy labor day weekend with friends popping three 60in water balloons on our slip-n-slide (and our lawn some much needed water!), getting high scores on our arcade, cruising the neighborhood on bikes, surfing the outside at Linda Mar, and eating waaaay too much at hot pot.

It was an incredible summer, and as I write it all out I am filled with so much love and gratitude. Grab some bubbles (water and/or wine) and enjoy our summer slideshow!

Here's to a fantastic school year boys, we can't wait to have y'all home for some Halloween fun!
